Mother Nature’s Lament

This is another great song from Greg about getting the Planet back from the Powers that be, that are messing it up for the rest of us.  Think 7th Generation.  (The song has been re-titled from Have It Back to Mother Nature’s Lament.)

Mother Nature’s LamentGreg Hafner

When all the resources have been harvested, and the money’s made and spent,

And the things that are left over, don’t pay a decent percent.

When the grabbers have decided, they’ve used up what’s on earth,

Those who want a brighter future, would ask one favor first.

Can we have the planet back? Can we have the planet back?

Can we have the planet back? Can we have the planet back?

Clouds to be seen in a nature daydream,

Daylight, clean and bright.

The scent of sage on a warm summer day,

Stars we can still see at night.

Fresh mountain air that my grandson can share,

Birds that have something to sing.

Will there still be a stream, that is clear and pristine,

Water that we feel safe to drink?

Can we have the planet back? Can we have the planet back?

Can we have the planet back? Can we have the planet back?

On behalf of nature, can we have the planet back?

Please just leave us something, can we have the planet back?

The right don’t care about it, if no profit’s to be made.

If we get it while it’s living, perhaps it might be saved.

The crash of a wave, in an ocean side bay,

Without all the floating debris.

A fresh morning fog, not a toxic black smog,

A mystical forest of trees.

Still wander along, a pathway of stone,

Sprouts growing up in between.

Colors that thrive, and bring sunsets alive,

Yellows, and oranges, and greens.

Post It

This New Song from Greg is a comment on the current World situation, of Social Networking, the News, etc.…                                                                      Greg totally put the song together. He played, or programmed all the instruments, effects, etc….except for the guitars, which were provided by Paulie’. He also did the final mixing.

Post It-(Greg Hafner)

Post it. Post it.

What did you do on Monday?                                        What did you do on Tuesday?

What did you do on Wednesday?                               What do you do on Thursday?

Post it. Post it.

What do you think about women?

What do you think about men?

What do you think about recent school shootings?

Where do you think it will end?

The last thing you do in the evening,

First thing when you get up.

It doesn’t matter who you damage,

As long as you end up on top.

Of course you have your own opinions,

You think that everybody cares.

Why do you wake up at midnight,

With yet another thought to share?

Instagram, Vine, and Twitter.

You use them to attack your friends..

Your Facebook page is bulging,

But it’s time to post again.

Post it. Post it.

What’s your comments on the people?

What’s your thoughts on fake news?

You think she takes a good picture?

You think it’s time to pay your dues?

You believe that you’re so important,

It’s you the world revolves around.

When someone reads your comments,

Will they think that you’re a modern clown?

Your Mama always told you,

You should have something nice to say.

If this is the best you can offer,                                     We all just hope you’ll go away.

Lonesome for your mind- Reprise. (or slight return)

Here are 2 new songs for your listening pleasure.   The first song, “Lonesome For Your Mind”, I originally wrote in 1976, but never got around to recording until now.  This is just a demo version, (I wish some bonafide Country Artist would pick up on it, make it a hit, and give me some working capital!), but I digress.  I played all the instruments, with help from Greg Hafner, from Something Foul, who graciously added a bass part, & did the final mixing. The Second song, is an instrumental created from 2 chords from Lonesome For Your Mind, called “Reprise.” The songs are back to back, on this recording. (A Woodner Hafsong Production.)

A Score of Years, Has Come & Gone,

As Night Turns Into Day.

And I’m Still Searching For My Morning Sun.

Someone to Shine on Me, an Ever Burning Ray.

Iwas Wondering,Could You be the One.

My Life’s been full of Dreams

of that one Special Pearl.

A thing which seemed impossible to Find.

Could it be this Lonesome Old Boy,

Wasn’t meant to have the World.

Could it be, your Eyes for me are Blind?

How Can I Tell You, about this Heart of Mine?

And How it Aches for Your Company.

How Can I Say to You,

I’m Lonesome for Your Mind?

Won’t you Come and Spend some Time with Me?

Life is as We Make it,

Lets be Together,For this Time.

You will Awaken a Life which Once was Dead.

New songs

Greg & I have been wanting to put some new tunes up on the website, but have been hampered with life. We do have 2 new offerings. One is a re-recording of the instrumental, “Tabor Morning”. The other is a blues song I wrote in 1976, but never got around to recording it. So here it is: Backyard Lonesome Bummertime Blues. More new songs to come. Stay tuned.

Backyard Lonesome Bummertime Blues

Okay, so the picture really does not go with the title of the song,
but it was hard to find an appropriate picture.
I wrote this song decades ago and finally decided to record it.
Greg added bass guitar and mixed the song.
All other instrumentation by Paulie’

Backyard Lonesome Bummertime Blues-
Paul Woodsong

You got to play like you never played,
To help you cope with a Bummer Day.
Do whatever you do, the Best.
Only time will tell, if you made the right guess.
When faced with an UnNatural, insulting blow,
to your Character,
The kind that’s so hard to leave behind.

I’ve met some low down ruthless people,
With a pain, that’s so hard to hide.
I cherish the beautiful caring people,
Not afraid to show, what’s really inside.
Both are the same, Society’s the blame,
For these old,
Backyard Lonesome Bummertime Blues.

I went to see about a job today. Redneck said,
I didn’t “look the way a man supposed to look”.
I went home to fix my bike,
I should have known,
I couldn’t fix it right.
I try with all my might. What’s the use in trying to fight, these old,
Backyard Lonesome Bummertime Blues.
